Prof. Fangruo Chen

Prof. Fangruo Chen was appointed as the Dean of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in July, 2018. Prof. Chen was the MUTB Professor of International Business at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. His research area encompasses supply chain management, operations management/operations strategy, and many interface areas between operations management and other disciplines such as game theory, marketing, finance and organizational design etc. He has received many awards including the CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation (USA). In China, he was named the Distinguished Overseas Young Investigator by the National Natural Science Foundation, recognized as the Chang Jiang Scholar by the Ministry of Education, and elected into the government’s Thousand Talents Program. Professor Chen has served many leadership positions in the field. He was a Departmental Editor for Management Science, an Area Editor for Operations Research, and a Senior Editor for M&SOM. 
Professor Chen received his Ph.D. in Operations Management and A.M. in Managerial Economics and Social Sciences from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, M.S. in Systems Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania, and B.S. in Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
