Professor Fiona Devine CBE FAcSS FRSA is Dean of Alliance Manchester Business School at The University of Manchester. The Business School is the largest full service Business School in the UK. It is currently positioned 3rd in the UK and 21st in the world in the Financial Times ranking of Executive Education. She previously led the School of Social Sciences where she is a Professor of Sociology with research interests in social stratification and mobility, work and employment and politics and participation. She was previously on the Council of the Economic and Social Research Council (now part of UKRI). She was elected to the Academy of Social Sciences in 2011 and chaired the working group for academic nominations to the Academy between 2017-2020. Currently she is Chair of the Citizens Panel for the Bank of England in the North West and is on the Assembly of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. She was awarded an OBE in 2010 and a CBE in 2019 for services to social sciences.
