Prof. Xuan Tian
Dean, Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, China

Dr. Xuan Tian is Dean of Guanghua School of Management and Boya Distinguished Professor of Finance at Peking University. He is serving as a deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress of P.R. China. He is also the “Cheung Kong Scholar” Distinguished Professor and a recipient of the “Distinguished Young Scholars” awarded by the National Science Fund of China. Before joining Peking University, He was Vice Dean and JD Capital Chair Professor of Finance at PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University, and a Professor of Finance with tenure at Kelley School of Business of Indiana University. Professor Tian received his Ph.D. from Boston College in 2008, M.A. from the University of Washington, and B.A. from Beijing University, China.
Professor Tian is an award-winning researcher in the areas of China economy and corporate finance with special research interests on venture capital, corporate innovation, and capital markets. He has more than 60 academic papers published in many leading academic journals including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and etc.. Professor Tian’s articles won the 2012 Jensen Prize (2nd place) and 2019 Jensen Prize (1st place) for best paper published in the areas of corporate finance and organizations in the Journal of Financial Economics. He won the Kelley School of Business Research Excellence Award four times. His papers have received more than 20,000 google scholar citations and been listed for top 1% highly cited papers for more than 200 times.
