Prof. Julia Bennell

Professor Julia Bennell is the Executive Dean of Leeds University Business School. Before joining Leeds, she was the Deputy Head of the University of Southampton Business School. Professor Bennell is Vice President of the Association of European Operational Research Society with responsibility for Education and Working Groups and is the chair and coordinator of the European Working group in Cutting and Packing, and also serves on the Research Panel of the Operational Research Society. Professor Bennell is an active researcher, and her main research interests are optimisation models for logistics. She has published over 45 papers in international journals including Management Science, European Journal of Operational Research, etc. She has undertaken a variety of roles as guest editor, stream and session organiser, and invited seminar speaker. She also has extensive links with external organisations, and has undertaken consultancy and research projects with UK Government organisations and a range of SMEs, as well as leading a programme of training courses for HMRC.
